Have you received clearance from a doctor to be involved in an exercise program?
Yes
Do you menstruate on a regular basis (outside of pregnancy) and how long is a typical cycle? Any concerns around your menstrual cycle? Do you track your cycle?
Normally yes, regular cycle 28-30 days, but currently still breastfeeding and hadn’t come back yet. I have endometriosis, so my cycles are pretty hectic, requiring strong pain relief etc
How many children/pregnancies have you had? List DOB and type of birth (vaginal, planned c-section, unplanned c-section, D&C)
G1P1, NVB, 20/01/26
For your most recent birth, please provide any relevant information (length of labour, pushing phase, tears/episiotomy, assisted delivery, stitches, scar pain/sensation, etc.)
Induction to birth 36 hours, active labor to birth 18 hours, 3rd stage 2 hours, episiotomy and vaccum assisted delivery. Stitches healed within 3 weeks, no concerns following.
Are you currently breastfeeding?
Yes
Has your menstrual cycle returned?
No
Have you had your 6 week check and received clearance for exercise?
Yes
What is your exercise history? What were you doing previously and what have you done in the last 6 months?
10 years ago was doing triathlons, half Ironman, marathons etc. Mostly sporadic gym strength training, some CrossFit, swimming and Pilates all at various stages over the past 10 years. Have done very little in the past 6 months.
What are your goals / focus returning to exercise?
To be able to feel connected to my body again, feel stronger and be able to do normal everyday things. Also once strong again, it’s really important for me to lose some weight as am in the obese corner currently and to be healthy need to shed quite a bit of weight as per GP recommendation.
Do you have any concerns about exercising / anything important for me to know? (e.g. previous injuries, pain, fatigue)
Pelvic floor has been fatiguing pretty early on, doesn’t seem to enjoy squats or lunges at all.
Have you seen, or do you see, a Women's Health Physio? If yes, what did you go for and what was the result?
Yes, pre and post partum with someone attached to eternal women’s health.
Do any of the following apply?
I have noticed a bulging from front or back passage, or am aware I have a prolapse, I experience heaviness or a 'dragging' sensation in my pelvic floor, I experience constipation or have difficulty emptying bowels, I experience urge incontinence and/or need to go to the toilet quickly
Have you ever experienced back or pelvic pain?
Yes
Have you been assessed for Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation)? If so, when and what was the result?
Yes, all healed
